| BJP extends support and striking PDD employees | | |

Taking strong exception of the directions from State Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to the striking employees of the PDD to join their duties within 24 hours or face termination, BJP State general secretaries Shamsher Singh Manhas and Bali Bhagat, in a joint statement, termed such a direction as direct attack on the constitutional rights of the employees.
They said that every one in India under the democratic set up has a right to raise his voice in a peaceful manner and that the PDD employees too are striking for the fulfillment of their genuine demands in a democratic way, they said. They are not committing any crime. They are asking for justice and not demanding moon from this anti-people and anti-employees government, the BJP leaders added. The BJP people said that regular supply of electricity is must and that the strike of the employees affects its supply thus creating problems for the general public, they said.
The BJP leader said that it is the duty of the government to ensure regular supply of electricity to the consumers and for that it should accede to the demands of the employees.
Expressing full support to the striking employees of PDD, the BJP leaders demanded immediate fulfillment of their genuine demands including regularization of daily wagers, who have completed seven years of service, release of pending wages, provision of risk allowance, creation of welfare fund, proper transfer policy at the earliest.
