| Amitabh Mattoo releases ‘Adbiyat-e-Poonch’ | | The literary work of Shabnam is world class: Manhas | | Jammu | March 15
Krishan Chander Memorial Bazam-e-Adab, Surankot to organized a function at Jammu University in connection with release of latest Urdu compilation of Mohammad Ayoub Shabnam’s book ‘Abdiyat-e-poonch’. On this occasion, Tahir Naseem Manhas made the welcome address and said that the literary work of Shabnam was of world class.
Vice Chancellor, Jammu University Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, who was the chief guest on this occasion released ‘Adbiyat-e-Poonch’ a collection of work and contribution of writers.
Prof. Amitabh Mattoo in his address appreciated the efforts of writer and said that such type of books would help in highlighting the contribution of writers of far-flung and remote areas. He further impressed upon the NGOs working in cultural sector to highlight new talent in the field of art and culture.
Dr. Rafiq Masoodi, who was the guest of honour congratulated Mohammad Ayub Shabnam for his contribution in the field of journalism and Urdu language. Shabnam was called upon to develop a bridge between Urdu and other regional languages of border district.
Mohammad Ayoub shabnam, author of book –a journalist and a literary figure has been working for promotion and preservation of cultural heritage of Poonch. He started the first ever Urdu weekly “Sitaron –Se –Aage”. He has also written a book of short stories titled “Shaheen” in 1972.
Eminent scholar Dr. Liaqat Jafri presented the paper. Dr Javid Rahi conducted the function and also presented the vote of thanks. Earlier, Tahir Nasim Manhas presented bouquets to dignitaries.
