| Selection Committee on Shrines Bill invites stake holders | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 24: The Selection Committee of State Assembly which is scrutinizing the much talked about Kashmir Hindu Shrines and Religious Places Bill has invited the stake holders to seek their opinion and objections to the Bill. According to Sources the Selection Committee has sought views of Dharmarth Trust which manages over a dozen temples and shrines in Kashmir Valley. Besides, the representatives of Chinar Trust, Sadhu Samaj, Charitable Trust Mattan and other various trusts managing the Hindu Shrines in Kashmir have been invited by the Committee to seek their views on the Bill. All these organisations have some reservations about the Bill and were demanding that the Bill be reviewed or the temples and shrines run by them be excluded from the Bill. The Committee has also invited Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust which has been demanding the passage of the Bill and bringing alls shrines and temples of Kashmir under the purview of the Bill. The Trust members which left for Kashmir Valley early this morning said that they will not include or exclude any shrine and Hindu temple from the Bill and there should be a single Board to manage all the Hindu shrines of Kashmir. The Trust while criticising those who oppose the Bill, said the Government should not pay any heed to them and instead reject their views and pass the Bill on the same pattern as it passed the Bill for formation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). While forming these two boards the Government did not seek objections from any Hindu body and despite the opposition from Baridaran or Dharmarth trust and prohits of Mata Vaishno Devi the Bill was passed and Board was constituted. |
