Jammu, Sept 24: National Panthers Party (NPP) Chairman and MLA Ramnagar Harsh Dev Singh Tuesday called upon district administration Udhampur to gear up its administrative machinery and ensure time bound completion of various planned development works under District Plan, State Plan as well as centrally sponsored schemes in Ramnagar constituency. Delayed action on the part of administrative departments often results in poor delivery especially in the far flung and snow bound areas having limited working season which adversely affects growth and development, said Singh on the conclusion of his two day tour of remote areas of Block Dudu Basantgarh. Addressing gatherings at various places including Kulwanta, Keya, Chhatrairi, Majouri, Pachound, Basantgarh,Upper Balota, Gandh Top and Kirchi areas, he exhorted upon all government departments to expedite the pace of developmental works and to show tangible results in a time bound manner on the ground. He inspected the ongoing works and called upon R&B Department to ensure early macdadmization of Basantgarh road under STF, expediting work on Sia Mehri and Chigla Balota Bridge, early completion of PHC/HC buildings as well as school buildings sanctioned under RMSA. He further sought appropriate action against defaulting contractors who had failed to ensure completion of developmental schemes within stipulated period. He called upon the PMGSY officers to ensure completion of road and bridges sanctioned under PMGSY within the specified time schedule. Singh expressed grave concern over the paucity of teaching staff in the remote and far flung areas and issued instructions to the accompanying officers to take immediate steps for making up the deficient staff. The NPP chairman called for expediting the selection process of ReT teachers so as to ensure provision of local teachers in remote areas schools. Singh came down heavily on the EM&RE Department for its failure to ensure repairs and restoration of damaged lines and damaged transformers besides huge unscheduled power cuts being effected by the department in Dudu Basantgarh Block. He took serious note of the complaints lodged by the general public against officers of the EM&RE who not only played truant with their duties but also over charged from public by supplying inflated power bills. He sought enquiry into the conduct of concerned officers and initiation of appropriate disciplinary proceedings against delinquent officers.Announcing a slew of new developmental schemes, Harsh sanctioned funds for electrification of left over hamlets of Rasli Takrai, Rasli Gaderan, Chhatrairi, Basantgharh, Khaned, Ponera, Rai chak, Sia Mehri and Kulwanta. He announced new angarwari centers and new schools for uncovered hamlets in various villages. He announced provision of High Mast Lights for various villages besides adequate funds for lanes and drains in Basantgarh area. He assured early action for ensuring construction of Parla Chekaal- Chingla Balota road and Pachound-Chappar road further directing the govt. to take immediate steps for getting the stay vacated in respect of construction of Basantgarh Kahned road. He released funds for construction of several passenger-cum-waiting sheds, water tanks besides tractor roads in various villages urging upon the Department for time bound action in respect of the same. The officers of various departments including R&B, PWD, PMGS, PHE, M&RE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Education, Forests, Rural Development and Tourism accompanied Singh during his tour. |
