| 70 pouches of illicit liquor recovered | | |

Udhampur Sept 25: Police today seized 70 Pouches of illicit liquor from Jakhani Udhampur in two different areas of Police Station Udhampur and Majalta. based on reliable sources, a Police Party of Police Station Udhampur led by Inspector Deepak Jasrotia SHO Police Station Udhampur carried out checking of one unknown person, latter on identified as Vijay Kumar son of Bhagat Ram of Upper Thanoa Tehsil and district Udhampur and recovered 50 pouches of J&K Excise (Desi Whisky) from his possession.
He was transporting these pouches in a polythene bag for illegal sale in his native village i.e. Upper Thanoa. The said accused person was arrested on the spot and pouches of J&K Excise were seized on.
In this connection, a Case FIR No. 292/2013 U/S 48A Ex. Act stands registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation of the case is going on.
In an another case, based on a reliable information, Police Party of Police Station Majalta led by Inspector Sukhdev Singh, SHO Police Station Majalta caught red handed one person namely Des Raj son of Bishan Dass of Dhema Tehsil Majalta who was indulging in illegal sale of pouches of J&K Excise for taking illegal profit. Today Police Party recovered 20 pouches of J&K Excise 250/250 ML(Desi Whisky) from his possession, which he was carrying for illegal sale in his native village i.e Dhama Tehsil Majalta. The said accused person arrested on the spot and pouches of J&K Excise were seized.
In this connection, a Case FIR No.44/2013 U/S 48A Ex. Act stands registered at Police Station Majalta and further investigation of the case is going on. |
