Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 25: The Institute of Mountain Environment (IME), Bhaderwah Campus, today organized a one day regional seminar "Himalayan Biodiversity - Issues and Concerns" under National Environmental Awareness Campaign. According to press release, Prof. Shashi Kant, eminent environmentalist and member environmental appraisal committee was the chief guest, whereas Col. Ravi Gargotra, Commanding Officer, 4 R/R, Bihar Regiment, Bhaderwah graced the occasion as Guest of Honour. The function was presided over by Prof. M.A. Malik, Rector Bhaderwah Campus. Prof. Anil K Raina, Rector Udhampur Campus was the chief guest whereas Prof. Raj Kumar Rampal, Head Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu acted the guest of Honour in the valedictory programme. Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Incharge Institute of Mountain Environment and organizing secretary of the event in his welcome address apprised the audience about the profile of the Institute and explained the current research performance and new initiatives being taken for progressive growth of the Institute. Prof. Raj Kumar Rampal, Prof. MA Malik were also present on the occasion. |
