JAMMU, Sept 25: To celebrate the birth anniversary of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayaya, founder member of Bharatiya Jana Sangh and one of its tallest leaders, an impressive function was organized at BJP headquarters on Wednesday. The portrait of Upadhayaya ji was garlanded and sweets distributed. The function was presided over by BJP state president & MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma and also graced by leader of Legislative Party Ashok Khajuria, state general secretaries Ashok Kaul and Kavinder Gupta, district presidents Rajesh Gupta and Subash Jandial. Jugal Kishore Sharma, called Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayaya an ideological and spiritual institution and impressed upon the participants to imbibe his teachings and ideology which would enable them to become more productive and better agents of societal engineering and change. He advised the workers to get inspiration from the life of Pt. Upadhayaya. Ashok Khajuria said that in the current social and political uncertainty the principles and ideology of Pt. Upadhaya holds great importance and need to be followed. Our state is directly under the onslaught of fundamentalism and extremism by elements within and outside the country and correspondingly our responsibilities have also multiplied manifold. Pt. Upadhaya's espousal of all round development of man needs to be followed by us. Ashok Kaul, while elaborating on the concept of integral humanism propounded by Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhaya, said that it involves balance and integrated development of body, mind, intellect and soul. The concept of integral humanism represents the finest intellectual interpretation of Indian philosophy which has involved over many millenniums and through the intellectual exertions of the finest minds produced by this great land of sages and saints. Jammu East district president Rajesh Gupta and Jammu West district president Subash Jandial also remembered the life of Panditji. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by district general secretary Jaideep Sharma. Kavinder Gupta, Sat Sharma, Munish Sharma, Yudhvir Sethi, Chander Mohan Gupta, Gulam Ali Khatana, Lalit Moza, Sanjiv Sharma, Chaman Lal Kanathia, Daljeet Singh, Arvind Gupta, Jaideep Sharma, Sanjay Baru, Vivek Gupta, Ayodhya Gupta, Sat Pal Choudhary, Tarseem Choudhary, Balwan Singh, Dinesh Gupta, N.D. Rajwal, Surinder Choudhary, Sanjeev Padha, Bal Khajuria, Arun Sethi, Bal Khajuria, Ajay Vaid, Tarseem Jain, Ashwani Khosla, and others took part in the function. |
