| Govt least bothered about problems of people: CPI (M) | | `JK politicians are corrupt' | | Agencies
New Delhi, Sept 25: Ex Member Parliament and Communist Party of India (Marxist) Central Committee member, Muhammad Salim today said that most of politicians of Jammu and Kashmir are corrupt and insensitive towards the problems of common people of the State. "The Pandora box opened by General V.K.Singh is making this fact clear that politicians of Jammu and Kashmir are filling their coffers and caring a fig for the people. Those who reject the claims of General V.K.Singh should not forget that he is a responsible person and can't talk in air," he told adding that people of Kashmir are always at the receiving end. Muhammad Salim said that there is no accountability in the State and politicians are free to do anything. "Accountability and other Commissions are defunct. Corruption is rampant and the voice of common man is muzzled by using extra force," he said. "The revelations made by Singh have vindicated the stand of common people that State politicians are corrupt and least bothered about the people. But at the same time, it is a serious charge and needs to be investigated," he told. Salim said that it is a big blot on Indian democracy that Army is taking interest in polity of the country. "If this could not be curbed then sooner or later it would lead us towards the disaster," he said adding there is not an iota of doubt in the fact that present government of the State of Jammu and Kashmir is least bothered about the sufferings of people. |
