Jammu, Sept 25: A protest demonstration by Unemployed Ayurvedic BAMS Doctors Association of Jammu region was held here on Wednesday. The 'doctors' carrying banners shouted slogans demanding absorption in government jobs. They alleged that there was no one to heed their as the governmentt and the administration was trying to 'suppress the voice of the Ayurvedic ISM doctors and creating hurdles in the peaceful, ongoing agitation.' They warned the 'touts' to stop their malafide role 'otherwise they will be exposed before the public.' Chairman of the Association Dr Shri Kant said that they were not being absorbed under the AYUSH scheme of the union health ministry. He registered strong protest against the 'poor implementation' of the AYUSH and the NRHM schemes in the state. "Corers of rupees of funding is being given to these schemes to provide jobs to the Ayurvedic doctors," he claimed. President of the Association Dr Sahil Pandoh said there is back log of thousands of Ayurvedic ISM unemployed doctors. "Results of ISM and NRHM are unsatisfactory and the performance of both these directorates ISM and NRHM are negligible and not up to the mark," he alleged. Dr Sahil demanded immediate advertisement of the posts for the ISM Ayuruvda doctors 'as we meritorious doctors have received these degrees after great struggle and hard work and after our parents spend large amount on this costly education.' Dr Sahil requested the union health minister Gulam Nabi Azad and the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for their intervention. Other leaders of the Assocition who were present on the occasion included Dr Shrikant, Dr Sahil Pandoh, Dr Kapil, Dr Amit, Dr Malik, Dr Tanvi Gupta, Dr Abbha, Dr Amit Gupta, Vishal Sharma. Dr Devinder, Dr Narain, Dr Depti Dogra, Dr Ankula, Dr Ruchika Raina, Dr Pooja, Dr Sakshi Bakshi, Dr Monika, Dr Neena, Dr Vidush, Dr Anjali, Dr Dr Parm Deep Singh, Dr Aman and Dr Sonam. |
