| Sex crime arrest not the first for Anand Jon | | |

Indian-born celebrity designer Anand Jon, who is in prison for raping two women, is not facing arrest for the first time for sex crimes.
Jon was 'arrested and charged with committing a lewd act on a child in 2003'.
Apparently, New York based Jon, pleaded 'no contest' and was required to undergo sex therapy for 52 weeks, as a part of probation orders. He was also asked not to interact with any person below 18 years of age without the presence of a responsible adult, according to the order.
Anand Jon completed his probation orders in 2005.
The 33-year-old is now facing charges of rape and forced copulation in incidents between October 2004 and March 2006.
The designer's current counsel, Ronald Richards, said that his client's earlier lawyer had exposed the overcharged case. The lawyer added that in 2003, the case was settled 'for a low grade non priorable, non-registerable, non-admissible plea of no contest, that was wiped out later'.
'My predecessor counsel [previous lawyer] did an excellent job of exposing the overcharged complaint and by doing so resolved the case for a low grade non priorable, non-registerable, non-admissible plea of no contest, which was expunged and set aside by the court we are in now,' TMZ quoted him, as saying.
Richards also said that his client has been charged of rape during his probation period, and that during the period, the cops or the court did not complain about violations of orders.
'At no time did the DA's office or the police ever disclose to the court any violations of any law during his three-year summary informal probation, which includes the 2004 incident to which he has now been charged for,' he said.
Meanwhile, a source insisted that Jon had sex with the lady, who was above 21, after she gave her consent, and that there were many people in his apartment on the day.
The source also said that the woman was trying on jeans for LA fashion week, that day and after the woman returned from lunch, everything changed noticeably.
'He had a consensual sexual relationship with a woman who is over 21 years old. The apartment was filled with at least five other people. The next day, she was trying on his clothes so that she could model his jeans line at L.A. Fashion Week. She went to lunch, and something dramatically changed when she came back,' the source told New York Daily News.
However, the cops maintained that Jon was arrested after considerable information against him.
'There was sufficient information that warranted the arrest,' Beverly Hills Police Dept. Lt. Mitch McCann said.
