| E&S department organizes two months training programme | | | Jammu, March 15 The Directorate of Economics and Statistics has organized two months induction training course for 33 newly appointed Assistant Directors in the Statistics Training Institute, Jammu. The training course which has been stated for the first time was inaugurated today by Mr. S. S. Kapoor, Principal Secretary to Government, Planning and Development Department. Mr. Kapoor in his speech emphasized the importance of trainings for capacity building of the officers belonging to the Planning and Development Department. He stressed about skill upgradation of the officers for handling the professional/technical assignments in the field of development and monitoring. He impressed upon the participants to avail this training facility and strive hard for gaining professional expertise in their respective fields. Director Economics and Statistics Mr. G. A. Qureshi in his welcome address spoke about the details of the training programme, its usefulness for the participants and the efforts being made by the department for providing specialized training to the officers in the field of economic planning and applied statistics through national level premier organizations outside the state including Central Statistical Organization (CSO) and the Planning Commission, Government of India. He also requested the authorities for having positive consideration on the proposal regarding strengthening and providing the minimum required teaching staff for the said training institutes at Jammu and Srinagar. Roma Wani, Special Secretary to Government, Planning and Development Department was also present on the occasion. |
