| Sagar takes up shrine matters with CM | | urges for massive infrastructural facility at holy sites | | SRINAGAR, March 15 MLA and former Minister Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today called on Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad at Srinagar. He brought to the notice of Chief Minister various public demands and issues pertaining to the development needs of people. Mr. Sagar drew the attention of Chief Minister towards the necessity of massive infrastructural requirements around the shrine of holy saint, Makhdoom Sahib (RA). He said thousands of devotees from all over the state visit the holy place which has attained significance of being one of the greatest pilgrim centres in the state. Mr. Sagar said for want of adequate basic facilities inconvenience is caused to the devotees especially during Urs days and on the occasions of religious congregation. He said Makdhoom Sahib area and shrine surroundings require focus of attention of the government to cater to the needs and create palatable surroundings. Mr. Sagar said during the current Urs days people for want of adequate infrastructural and related facilities at the shrine area and due to heavy snowfall felt inconvenient. He said next two months in Srinagar are all the more important as religious congregation and Urs Mubaraks are in offing. He said celebration of Idd-Milad-un-Nabi (SW) is being observed shortly and also Urs Mubarak of Dastgeer Sahib as such, administration needs to be geared up to ensure every facility to the devotees and pilgrims. He said all out measures need to be taken in advance to finalize every arrangement and also mitigate the problems let loose by the untimely heavy snowfall in the valley and on account of National Highway blockade. He urged for gearing up CAPD and Police Department alongwith other concerned to curb the evil designs of hoarders and black marketers. Mr. Sagar hoped that Chief Minister would look into the matter of upgrading infrastructure facilities in shrine areas as early as possible. Chief Minister assured Mr. Sagar that he would call a high level officers meeting very soon to deliberate upon all matters, Mr. Sagar has brought to his notice so that a concrete strategy is evolved for the purpose.
