Maj Gen SN Shah, MG-IC-Adm launched Field Postal Order facilities at FPO Udhampur, today. This facility has also been launched by Shri IMG Khan, Secretary (P), Dept of Posts and Lt Gen Sudhir Sharma, AVSM, YSM, VSM, Quartermaster General at New Delhi.
Army Postal Service (APS) is committed to provide a wide range communication, financial and logistic service to the troops and units deployed in peace/field. APS celebrated 150 years of FPO recently. This facility will overcome the problems of troops serving in far flung areas in remitting money to their families by fastest means as banks are not available in field/Counter Insurgency areas. The Field Postal Order will be available in the denomination of Rs 2,000/-, Rs 3,000/-, Rs 5000/-, Rs 10,000/-, Rs 15,000/- and Rs 20,000/- in all Field Post Offices. |
