| Academic arrangements for unconventional streams soon: Peerzada | | | Jammu, March 16 The state government has decided to make academic arrangements for appointing staff for teaching unconventional streams introduced at Senior Secondary level, till the creation and recruitment of regular staff. This information was given by Minister for Education, IT, Science and Technology Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed at a meeting of representatives of Principals and lecturers of Plus two schools convened by him here today. Minister of State for Education Mr. Manjeet Singh, Secretary Education Mr Khazeer Mohammad Wani, Director School Education Mr. D K Vaid also attended the meeting. Responding to the points raised during the meeting, the Minister said that faculties for unconventional streams like bio- technology, Bio-Chemistry, Environmental Sciences and Computer education, would be engaged on contractual basis till the creation and recruitment of regular staff. He said apart from this as a short-term measure, the process of recruitment through Public Service Commission for such faculties would also be initiated. He said that consolidation of infrastructure and provision for adequate staff in newly upgraded Higher Secondary Schools is being given first priority adding that following the successful implementation of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, these schools are going to witness a huge rush. He however, said that in future upgradation to HSS level would be effected purely on need basis. About the filling of vacant posts in newly upgraded schools, Minister said that maximum number of posts for direct recruitment have been refereed to PSC. Departmental Promotion Committee meeting would be soon convened to clear the cases who are already working as Incharge Lecturers. He also assured that the regularization of Incharge Principals would be effected soon. The meeting also stressed the need for introducing specialized schools for different streams of education at senior secondary level to reduce the rush in the over crowded institutions. The Minister said that government would soon take a decision on the matter. Giving further details, Minister said that BOSE sub–offices complexes would be constructed at all district headquarters for the convenience of the students. He called upon the representatives to extend their cooperation in the implementation of educational reforms, particularly putting a hold on the menace of copying. |
