| Promises made during last elections being fulfilled gradually: Jugal | | | Jammu, March 16 Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma today said that the present government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad is gradually fulfilling all the promises made during previous assembly elections. He said during the past over one and a half year the government has taken many steps for the betterment of people and several mega development projects have been taken in hand and many are in pipeline. The Minister was addressing series of public meetings in Bishnah and Parmandal areas near here. He said all the promises made would be fulfilled but people have to bear with the government and extend their cooperation in execution of development works. Mr. Jugal said that the Chief Minister has taken many revolutionary decisions, which include creation of 8 districts, sub-divisions and tehsils besides recently enactment of landmark Roshni Act. He said that the districts, sub-divisions and tehsils were created over and above the recommendations of the Wazir Commission set up nearly three decades back. He said with this, aspirations of people with regard to speedy development and socio-economic upliftment in their respective areas would be fulfilled and added that under Roshni Act ownership rights of state land upto 100 kanals would be transferred to the farmers without charging any money from them. He appealed people to strengthen the hands of Mr. Azad who is determined to make the state prosperous as envisioned by him ‘Khushal Jammu and Kashmir’. He said during his tenure as Chief Minister the state has received liberal financial assistance from Centre, which will change the destiny of the people of the state. He said during this period the state has witnessed a new era of development, which will be remembered for a long time. He said Mr. Azad is tirelessly working hard to provide corruption free government to the people for which he has shown exist door to many corrupt officials which is a healthy sign of the good governance. He further said Mr. Azad has no magic stick, which will make the society free from corruption but maintained the people have to change their mindset and come forward and extend their helping hand in eradicating the menace from the society. Responding to the demands putforth by the people, the Minister assured the people that genuine demands would be considered sympathetically and redressed in a phased manner. Enroute Parmandal, the Minister was accosted by the people at village Sangar and pleaded for upgradation of road from main road to village Sangar. He personally inspected the road and announced to provide Rs. 4 lakh for the purpose provided the estimates are routed through concerned authorities. Later, the Minister visited the Aap-Shambu temple Parmandal and paid obeisance there. He prayed for prosperity of the state and restoration of peace at the earliest. Senior functionaries of Rural Development Department accompanied the Minister during his visit.
