FPFG takes out protest rally, lathi charged

The ousted Forest Protection Force Guards(FPFG) of Doda district, who are on strike for the last five days in front of the Divisional Commissioner’s office here, took out a rally and made an abortive attempt to enter Civil Secretariat.
The demonstrators led by BJP Labour Cell President Sunil Dimple marched through Chowk Chabutra, Jain Bazar, Purani Mandi and City chowk and made a bid to enter civil secretariat.
The protesting employees are demanding reappointment in the department and sought Chief Minister’s personal intervention in solving their genuine demand.
The Association in a hand out claimed that the protestors were lathi charged at City Chowk as a result some of the employees including Ramesh Manhas, Ravi Dutta, Mohinder Thappa, Imtiyaz Ahmed, Shahed Hussain along with Sunil Dimple of BJP sustained injuries.
Addressing the protestors Dimple is reported to have extended full support of the Labour Cell and condemned the police lathi charge on the striking employees, the hand out said.
