IED blast rocks Baramulla: 2 civilian killed, 7 injured

At least two persons were killed and seven others injured two of them critically when unidentified persons believed to be the militants triggered of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) concealed in a handcart near Uri Bus stand in Baramulla district of north Kashmir here this afternoon.
Eye witnesses told News Agency of Kashmir that the blast was aimed at targeting two Border security vehicles killed two passer bys and injured seven people who were on way to offer Friday prayers.
A shopkeeper Iqbal Hamid Wani injured in the blast said, “As soon as two BSF vehicles passed in front of my shop I heard a big bang after which every thing shattered before my eyes." He said that despite sustaining injuries on his arms and legs he ferried the seriously injured to hospital.
Soaked in a pool of blood, Ghulam Nabi Bhat son of Abdul Ahad Bhat of Batogu Sopore, breathed his last on the spot. The other injured were identified as Pervaiz Ahmed Dar son of Ali Mohammad Dar of Kwajabagh Baramulla, Ghulam Nabi Malik son of Sonuallah Malik of Gantamulla, Khalid Ahmed wani of Dardpora Baramulla, Mohammed sayeed Najar son of Abdul Ahad of Qazi Hamam Baramulla, Irshad Ahmed Bhat son of Ali Mohammed Bhat of Hundwara, Firdous Ahmed Lone son of Abdul Jabbar Lone of Fathegarh Baramulla.
Among the three injured referred to Srinagar, Mohammed Syed Najar of Qazihamam succumbed to his injures on way.
Three shops were also damaged in the blast.
Soon after the blast, troops lunched a hunt to nab the militants responsible for the blast. Entire, township wore a deserted look as shopkeepers downed their shutters soon after the incident.
