| Man arrested for posing as Policeman | | | Srinagar, Mar 16
Police today arrested a youth who have duped people of money by impersonating himself as a policeman.
Official sources told News Agency of Kashmir that the youth identified as Mohd Ashraf Dar son of Gh. Qadir of Nowbugh Chadoora was nabbed by the police from SMHS Hospital.
Giving details, Police said that Ashraf had some how managed an identity Card of Selection Grade Constable Mir Hussain of armed battalion bearing number Exe 741887 and got the card scanned by one Irfan Ahmad Khan son of Gh. Ahmad Khan resident of Beerwah Chadoora. The accused got his name and face imposed on the identity card and misuses the same by duping an old person of Rs 4000 and one Bashir Ahmad Parry of Rs 350.
Police sources said that the accused have been apprehended and a case FIR No. 21/07 under section 170, 420-RPC have been registered. |
