| PK for zero level tolerance to terrorism, asks Centre to shun ambiguities | | | JAMMU, MAR 16 ‘Urging for a zero level tolerance to terrorism’, Panun Kashmir has called for defeating the selective pro separatist discourse on human rights, as it breeds terrorism. It has asked the Centre to shun all ambiguities in its policy on Jammu and Kashmir, which bear implications of undermining sovereignty and integrity of the nation. Addressing media persons here today Panun Kashmir leaders said that ‘ we are seeing a clear link between the sordid political campaigns on the issues of demilitarization, custodial killings and release of Afzal Guru, being conducted in Kashmir valley for quite some time’. All these campaigns, the PK leaders said, are aimed to undermine the locus standi of Indian state in Jammu and Kashmir and regretted the State and the Central government’s failure to react. Appreciating the declaration of PM refusing demilitarization in the State, the PK leaders said the campaign of demilitarization in Kashmir is taking place at a time when global opinion is rising against the Jihadi campaigns lead by resurgent Al Qaeda and Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan, particularly also when Indian security forces have started to gain some ascendancy on the terrorist operations in the state. Observing that the debate on ‘custodial killings’ has been allowed to become ‘lopsided and selective’, the PK leaders alleged that the response of the state government has been primarily to shift the blame rather than responding comprehensively. ‘Abandoning security forces to ‘media trial’ or local enquiry commission has been the hallmark of the government response, the PK leaders maintained and called upon both the governments and the mainstream political parties to take note of these observations and galvanize to face the separatist campaign from within and outside comprehensively.
