| Labour Department deputation calls on Minister | | | JAMMU MARCH 17 A deputation of Non-Gazetted Employees of Labour Department led by Shiv Kumar called on the Minister for Health, Labour and Employment and pleaded for early approval of the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee. The deputation apprised the Minister that despite recommendations of the DPC over a year ago, the approval from the administrative department was still awaited. The DPC of the department in its meeting held in February last year had cleared some employees for next higher promotions on the basis of seniority and suitably, but regrettably the administrative department, has yet to give its nod to it. After hearing the deputationists’ plea, the Minister immediately directed the Principal Secretary Labour and Employment B L Nimesh to put up the relevant file along with the reasons for abnormal delay. He is reported to have categorically instructed the Principal Secretary to issue formal orders so that those employees recommended for promotion by the DPC could get benefited. The Minister impressed upon the deputation that, while the government is alive to their problems and is making all efforts to provide facilities and comforts to them but at the same time the employees too have a great responsibility to serve the people in a befitting way and solve their day to day administrative problems. He asked them to work with added zeal, devotion and honesty and restore the work culture in the department. The deputation included Prem Ji, Sudesh Kumar, Sanjay Bhat, Pawan Kumar, G M Khan, Roop Kumar and Jagdesh Rathore.
