| Deepika, wonder child of Jharkhand, presents ‘Shivvandana’ | | | JAMMU MARCH 17 As a part of the inter-state cultural exchange program of the Jammu and Kashmir Cultural Academy, Jarkhand Cultural troupe performed folk dances and folk songs of Jharkhand at Maharaja Suraj Mal Institute of Education Rangpur Malania in RSPura. Member Parliament Tarlok Singh Bajwa was the chief guest on the occasion where Dr Nutun Sinha, the troupe leader was also present. Bajwa appreciated the Cultural Academy for organizing such activities in remote and border areas like RSPura and also complimented the artists for their excellent performance. ‘Through such inter-state cultural exchanges, the concept of national integration and unity in diversity of great India’ would be more benefited, he remarked. Dr Nutun Sinha expressed her happiness to visit Jammu and Kashmir, known as a paradise all over the world. While praising the natural and cultural beauty of the state, she said that ‘we are priviledged to perform and exchange culturally among the people of Jammu’ The little dancer Baby Deepika Choube known as ‘wonder child of Jharkhand’ won applause for the program with solo performance ‘Shivvandana’ followed by another solo Bharatnaatyam by Miss Mayuri Talwar . Dr Kamal Bose conducted the proceediangs whsile Mrs Geeta Devi Principal Maharaja Suraj Mal Institute presented vote of thanks. Goa cultural troupe performs at Heritage school JAMMU MARCH 17- Goa Cultural Troupe presently on a cultural trip to city of temples, today performed folk dances at Heritage school Sainik colony here. MLC R S Chib was the chief guest. Dr Rafeeq Masoodi Secretary and T R Sharma Additional Secretary of the Cultural Academy and Sunita Gupta Chairperson of Heritage school were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Chib thanked Cultural Academy for organizing such programs for the school children and applauded the Goa troupe for its scintillating performance. He had a special praise for the ‘candle dance’ presented by the artists and said that Goa is rich in its traditional folk culture. Apart from the candle dance, the troupe presented ‘Kunbi dance, Dekhni dance, Goff, Talgadi and Tonyamel’ which received thunderous applause from the gathering present there.
