| ISM doctors’ deputation call on CS, demands separate Directorate | | | Jammu March 19
A deputation of Medical Officers of Indian Medicines, under the aegis of Joint Action Committee, and led by its Chairman Dr V S Manhas and Convenor Dr Rohit Gupta, called on Chief Secretary C. Phunsong and presented him a chatter of demands.
The delegation, while apprising the Chief Secretary about their growing problems, demanded creation of separate Directorate for both the divisions of the state and maintained that keeping in view the topography and difficult terrain of the state, it is practically very difficult for a single Director to monitor the working of subordinate offices all over the state. The deputation also demanded grant of time bound promotions,
Amending SRO 379, issuance of revised seniority list of Medical Officers by incorporating names of all the serving Medical Officers and promotion of doctors as Deputy Director and Director, having minimum gazetted service of 25-30 years.
Among others who were with the deputation included Dr Anil Kant, Dr Jatinder, Dr Dev Raj Sharma and Dr Arun Jandial.
