| Truck loaded with illegal food grains seized, shopkeeper arrested | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER

In continuation to the drive against black marketing and hoarding, during the intervening night of 2/3-8-2006, on a specific information that some food grains are being illegally transported in a vehicle, SHO P/S Thatri along with Tehsildar Thatri checked a Truck bearing No. JK02AA- 995 which was loaded with food grains and seized 24 bags of wheat from the vehicle. During questioning it was revealed that the said vehicle belongs to one Bharat Bhushan S/o Girdhari Lal R/o Prem Nagar who is running a Kiryana Shop at Prem Nagar. On this raid was conducted in a store of the said Bharat Bhushan and 35 bags of rice and 08 bags of levy sugar illegally stored there was seized. In this regard, case FIR No. 35/2006 U/S 3/7 ECA stands registered arrested by P/S Thatri . The accused is being put to sustain questioning to know his modus operandi and his brother associates/ connections so that the nexus is broken and all such persons are booked under law.
It may be mentioned here that in various meetings of police officers with the general public, people have been raising hue and cry against either the non-availability of ration or its black marketing. More arrests are expected on the disclosure of the arrested person.
