| INTUC demands release of DA | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | MAR 20 A meeting of INTUC, young workers council was held here today under the chairmanship of its President Pranav Shagotra. State President India National Trade Union Congress, Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion . Speaking on the occasion Sharma hailed the decision of Central Govt. for release of 6 % D.A to its employees and demand the same of the employees of the State Government also. He also demanded immediate release of funds for the payment of salary to the PHE workers engaged on need basis. He said that Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has already considered their demand and declared on “ May Day” that need basis workers of PHE would be paid Rs. 2100/- per month. INTUC President has also expressed concern over the non payment of COLA to he public sector employees have not been even paid COLA for 4-6 years and demand that COLA along with arrears be paid, immediately. Pranav Shagotra, while speaking at the meeting expressed serious concern over the increasing unemployment in the state and demanded creating employment opportunities for the unemployed youth the Govt. Semi-Govt. and public sector departments in a bigger way. He said that loan facility for unemployed people should be under one roof. He also demanded special recruitment drive for the youth of hilly terrain of Poonch, Rajouri, Doda and other parts of the State where self-employments schemes are not possible.
