| Panthers leader demands CBI probe into earthquake relief bungling | | | JAMMU March 20 Expressing his serious resentment over the non serious attitude of the State and the Central Governments for denying justice to 1947 refugees and 2005 earth quake victims, General Secretary Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party Mohammed Saleem Sheikh claimed that his party can only provide justice to the poor people, farmers, students, unemployed youth and 1947 refugees from Pakistan and PoK. Addressing media persons here today the JKNPP leader alleged pick and choose policy in distribution of relief ‘saying that the poor has become poorer and rich the richest, due to the earthquake that rocked the state, particularly the city of Poonch on October 8 2005. He said that there are certain families, who have not been provided any relief so far and demanded a CBI probe in the distribution of relief. Referring to JKNPP, he said, it is the only party in the state which is accepted by all the regions of the state and gave a clarion call to youth and the students to participate in the rally on March 23 being held on the occasion of party’s 24th birth anniversary. Highlighting the problems of Pehari speaking community, Sheikh demanded grant of scheduled tribe status to the community, besides opening of Poonch-Mirpur and Poonch-Uri routes, to enable the divided families of 1947 to meet their dear and near ones .He also stressed for proper maintenance of the historical monuments like Poonch Fort, Gurudawara at Nangali Sahib, Budha Amarnath and shines of Sai Miran Sahib.
