| Teenaged girl, among two, drowned in River Neeru | | | DODA, MAR 20
A teen- aged girl, was among the two, who lost their life when they drowned in Neeru River at lower Beja Bhaderwah of Doda district early this morning. Identified as 55 year Mansa Devi w/o Ashru Masha r/o Lower Beja and 11 year Uzla Devi d/o Rattan Lal r/o Beja, a student of 5th class, drowned in the river when they were crossing it.
Immediately after receiving the report about the incident the district administration and the local people swung into action and succeeded in fishing out the body of the woman after a great struggle, while the body of the girl was still untraced.
Later, the people of the village held a protest demonstration against the local administration and the state government for their failure in providing proper connectivity in rural areas. All business establishments and institutions remained closed in protest in the town..
