Centre for Women’s Studies, Govt. College for women Parade today organized a slogan writing competition on female foeticide, dowry and girl child education. The event was organized to aware and sensitizes the students on women issues.
More than forty students from different colleges of Jammu participated in the event. The panel of judges included Prof. Rita Jitendra, social activist, Prof. Poonam Dhawan, director, CWS, University of Jammu, Prof. Indira. S. Rathore, former principal, GCW, Parade and Dr. Renu Gupta, Director, MIER appreciated the event.
The welcome address was presented by Prof. Shashi Koul. First and third prize was won by Renu and Ritu of MIER College while Pooja Langer of GCW Gandhi Nagar College won the second prize. Consolation prizes were given to Jyotsana of MIER College, Jyoti Paul of Govt. Degree College kathua and Priyanka Kumari of GCW Parade.
