After Pakistan WC exit, Mush wants no more cricket
3/20/2007 10:38:26 PM
ISLAMABAD
President Pervez Musharraf has said he was dejected and distressed over Pakistan's disastrous show in the World Cup in the West Indies where they were shocked by minnows Ireland and eliminated in the first round.

The President, who is also the patron-in-chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), said although he was fond of cricket, it is for the first time that he was not watching the matches since he was dejected and disappointed by the team's poor show.

In an interview to Geo TV , Musharraf said the performance of the cricket team needed to be analysed and there was a need to review in detail the reasons for the team's flop show.

On the death of coach Bob Woolmer, he said the former England batsman was committed, hard-working and dedicated.

"He was a good human being," Musharraf said adding "he had promoted the cause and game of cricket in Pakistan with dedication and single mindedness. Woolmer's services in the field of cricket will be long remembered by cricket fans."
