| Nayeem urges repealing of draconian laws | | | ISLAMABAD India must annul draconian laws enacted from time to time in the Jammu & Kashmir as such brutal tactics are suppressing the Kashmiri's fundamental rights, Senior Leader APHC Naeem Ahmed Khan said Monday. The whole region has been transformed into a virtual garrison as around 700,000 troops are occupying the valley and creating great problems for the Kashmiris. The situation has even aggravated since the early nineties as the Kashmiris have not even seen the traditional hustle and bustle of evenings because of perennial threat posed to their rights by the occupied forces, he told PTV. Commending the flexibility being shown by Pakistan in a bid to achieve a lasting peace in the region he said India must accept Kashmiris right to self determination imperative for permanent resolution of the issue. He said it is time to make the whole region tension free and linked the South Asian peace with Kashmir dispute. To a question he said that Kashmiris want to create harmony between India and Pakistan but would never compromise on principles of their ongoing struggle. Nayeem Khan was accompnied by APHC leader AJK chapter Altaf Hussain Wani and other workers.
