Dogri Department thrashed Sanskrit Department by 27runs in the ongoing Inter-Department Cricket Tournament being played University Cricket field here today.
Dogri Department won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 136runs for the loss of six wickets in allotted 20overs game. Rajneesh of Dogri Deptt. was the top scorer who scored 48runs in 44balls by hitting four balls to cross the fence and a six.. Rajesh Manhas struck 31runs in 26balls and hit two boundaries. There were two huge sixes in his inning. Ankit contributed 18 runs and one four. The opening stand was 69runs and 22runs were extras in Dogri Deptt. innings. Vikas Sharma of Dogri Deptt. clinched four wickets by giving 21runs in 4overs quota. Amit and Sunny took one wicket each.
While chasing the target of 137runs, Statistics Department bundled out at 110runs in 16.5overs. There were 28runs went as extras. Sunny scored 29runs and struck four boundaries. Ian and Rahul contributed 21 and 12runs by hitting three and two balls to cross the fence respectively. For Dogri, Rajneesh and Parveen claimed three wickets each by giving 21 and 29runs in allotted 4overs quota respectively. Satish took two wickets.
Naveen and Vikrant Singh were the umpires in the match whereas Satpal was the official umpire.
