| Vocational training centre constructed | | | POONCH 21 To tap the local talent and impart training to the under privileged local girls on various vocational course to make them self reliant, independent and generate employment for subsistence, the 9 JAK Rifles, under the Operation Sadbhanava, constructed an vocational training Centre Sekhlu in border district of Poonch. The Centre constructed at an estimated cost of Rs five lakh was inaugurated by Commander Poonch Brigade Brig G S Shergill today in presence of COL V S Sekhon Commanding Officer of Doda Battalion and eminent personalities of the District. Addressing the gathering Brig Shergill said that many such projects are being undertaken by the Army to assist the people of this region to improve their quality of life and catalyze the vast talent present in young girls. Hailing the efforts of the Army in providing them the much needed building for the vocational training Centre, the people hoped that the centre would go a long way in imparting training to the young and budding girls in different trades.
