| Cooperation of NGOs must for speedy progress, development of State: Mangat | | | Jammu, March 21 Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma has exhorted NGOs to work with dedication and sincerity for socio-economic upliftment of people in the state. He said cooperation of NGOs is imperative for all round progress and development of the state. The Minister was addressing people after inaugurating skill development training centre at Qasim Nagar here today. The training centre has been set up by Volunteers Organization for International Cooperation and Equity (VOICE) in collaboration with JUDA. “NGOs have to work with missionary zeal and ensure their activities are reflected at ground level, Mangat said adding government is encouraging healthy NGO culture in the state”. He said NGOs must contribute in mitigating sufferings of people, especially in modern era where problems of multifarious nature crop up off and on. Appreciating VOICE for opening Vocational Centre in the periphery of Jammu city Mr. Mangat Said that technical training guarantees economic security of youth. He called upon students to take up technical education for earning dignified livelihood, saying government jobs are shrinking increasingly and thus everybody cannot be given employment. The Minister said that government has focussed attention on the development of cities and towns alongside rural areas under various central and state sponsored schemes and assured that sanitation of Qasim Nagar and Rajiv Nagar would be improved on priority basis. Earlier, General Secretary Mr. G. H. Fani gave a detailed account of the activities of VOICE.
