| 2 yrs imprisonment to driver for rash, negligent driving | | | | Jammu, Nov 7: Judicial Magistrate Ist Class Kathua Renu Dogra on Thursday awarded simple imprisonment of two years for commission of offence u/s 304 A RPC and fine of Rs 2000/-, simple imprisonment for one 1 month and fine Rs 500/- for commission of offence u/s 337/RPC , simple imprisonment for and fine Rs 500/- for commission of offence u/s 279 RPC to one driver Darvinder Singh S/o Sukhvinder Singh R/o Pathankot who was facing trial in a case of death of two persons by rash and negligent driving. According to police case Police station Kathua received information that on 10/03/2006 a Tata Sumo bearing registration No PB01-3557 in a rash and negligent careless manner hit one Maruti car bearing registration No PB02-9255 near village Barnoti NHW who was on its way to Vaishno Devi Katra and caused an accident in which one passenger sitting in the Maruti car died on spot and others succumbed to injuries in hospital. After completion of investigation challan was presented in court. Court after hearing after hearing Sr. P.O R.P Singh appearing for the state observed that the case is proved by prosecution. The accused while driving the Tata Sumo in rash and negligent manner caused the death of two persons and Prosecution has proved his case beyond any shadow of doubt, as such accused is convicted accordingly.
