Jammu, Nov 7: Border Defence committee organized several massive rallies of the residents along the international border in Jammu and Samba Districts today.
A strong team of JKNPP headed by Bhim Singh its chief patron who was accompanied by Yashpal Kundal MLA & Anita Thakur (state general secretaries) Faqir Nath Ex-MLA (provincial president), Jagdev Singh (coordiantion secretary) Ashok Randawa and Shanker Singh Chib (provincial secretaries), S. Hari Singh (district president Jammu rural), president NPSU Partap Singh Jamwal and others interacted with the people living in horror and under the threat of Pakistan Army.
These areas faced shelling last week. The local people presented memorandum to Prof. Bhim Singh and his team on the situation they have been facing.
Bhim Singh assured the residents that he shall present a complete picture of the situation and the difficulties they have been facing to Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India next week. The meetings were organized in Kaintha-Chak, Harchay-chak, Tounki, Samka, Jajian, Raipur, Chak-Nanka, Bastipora, Abdullian, Suchetgarh, Bevaid, Sai, Nikwal and Nandpur, Ramgarh, Nanga etc.
Bhim Singh expressed shock that the government have not cared a bit to improve the situation and the miseries these people in the border areas have been facing.
He said that 123 kanals of land only in Suchetgarh area has been under the illegal occupation of the government since 1971.
He demanded compensation to the farmers. He also demanded that people living in international border should be given same facilities and concessions which residents along LOC have been given. He demanded implementation of common minimum programme CMP, which was signed by Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh in agreement with Bhim Singh in 2002.
In CMP the Congress have agreed to provide ten marlas of plot to every family living under the Pakistan firing range. He said Congress, NC and PDP have betrayed the people of Jammu. |
