| Security boosted at Cochin Port after threat | | | KOCHI: Security arrangements at the Cochin Port Trust (CPT) have been stepped up following the receipt of a letter threatening attacks on the vessels at the port. According to port sources, the letter written on a post card in English and addressed to the Port Trust Chairman, had threatened to carry out attacks on foreign passengers and naval vessels at the Cochin Port. The letter, which was received on Tuesday, was suspected to have been posted from nearby Mattancherry, sources said. "Already we have fool proof security arrangements and the security has been further kept on vigil as a result of the letter", sources said. The patrolling has been further increased. Police has been investigating into the origin of the letter. Kochi, which is fast becoming a preferred global destination for cruise liners, had received the Queen Mary 2, the world's largest and expensive liner, early this month.
