| Comprehensive plan on anvil to deal with natural disasters: Hakeem | | Chairs high level meeting to take stock of flood relief measures | | Srinagar, March 22
Minister for Transport Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has said that the state government would formulate comprehensive plan to ensure that protection measures are taken well in time while dealing with natural disasters.
Reviewing the flood situation in Budgam district at a high level officers meeting today, the Minister said that government would take every step for rehabilitation of the flood affected people in the state adding that Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has directed for immediate steps to provide succour to the affected people across the state on war footing.
Hakim Yaseen said district administration Budgam has already mobilized its men and machinery to protect the public property from the damages due to the floods and has initiated relief and rehabilitation measures. He directed the concerned authorities to take immediate steps for restoration of damaged water supply installations, power supply and irrigation khuls besides traffic movement in the district. He asked Flood Control department for necessary repairs of the flood protection bunds along Nallah Sukh Nag and Shali Ganga in the district damaged due to the flash waters.
