| Azad refuses to discuss politics on Martyrs day, says day belongs to them | | Says people shall not forget the deeds of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev | | Abhishek and Ajay Menia RS Pura, Mar 23 Not allowing to let mundane things come in the way of paying tributes to the three revolutionaries, who laid their lives in the freedom struggle in 1931, Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, for a change today asked the people to forget the trivial for the day. The chief minister was speaking at a function organized at village Satrayian to pay homage to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, the three great revolutionaries, who sacrificed their lives today for the cause of Indian freedom. The trio were executed this day in 1931, after they were framed in the Lahore conspiracy case by the Bristishers. While addressing the mammoth gathering at village Satrayaina, the Chief Minister said that this day belongs to those men, who sacrificed their youth, their future and their families to secure freedom for us, “I am not going to discuss any demand or listen to any other issue today as this would amount to disrespecting the great men”. The CM said this in response to the deluge of eager complainants and deputations of people, most of them from RS Pura and Bishnah, who expected him to take immediate measures to alleviate their sufferings. He said that the people of the country shall not forget 23rd March at any moment when three young persons were hanged by Britishers. He said while India under stalwartship of Mahatma Gandhi, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, Moulana Abul Kalam Azad adopted non-violent method for achieving the goal of independence, we should ponder over the reasons that why Bhagat Singh and others were compelled to challenge the atrocities of Britishers, which they had resorted to against different sections of people of India. He said in 1929 when Central Assembly was in Lahore and British administration was determined to pass and promulgate the legislation based on anti-people and anti-labour policies through same assembly, the young pro-freedom fighters that compelled to stall the process of passing the draconian legislation Earlier, at least 30 to 40 thousand people, who had assembled at Satrayan Maidan in R. S. Pura today greeted. Ghulam Nabi Azad on the occasion of commemoration of Martyrs Day. Speaking on the occasion, MLC Mr. R. S. Chib said that it is a historic day when the entire nation is paying tributes to Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru, Sukhdev and other martyrs who laid their lives for attaining freedom for the country from the British rule. Congress MP Madan Lal Sharma, MLA Sham Lal Sharma, MLA Ch. Gharu Ram, MLA Mrs. Suman Lata Bhagat, paid glowing tributes to Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru, Sukhdev and other martyrs who had laid down their lives for the cause of nation. Among other who were present on the occasion included. Balwan Singh,. Jasbir Singh Lucky, Krishan Lal Sharma, Jagdish Raj Dubey, Naresh Chowdhary and senior political leaders and thousands of people.
