| One day workshop on Women and cultural heritage held at JU | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | March 23 Centre for Women’s Study in collaboration with Centre for History of Jammu and Ladakh organized a one-day workshop on Women and Cultural Heritage. Former Education Minister Harsh Dev Singh was the chief guest at the workshop, while Prof. Ved Ghai and Prof. Reeta Jitendra were the guests of honor. Speaking on this occasion, Harshdev appreciated the Centre for Women Studies said women can play an important role in the society and added that women had moved ahead in all the spheres whether it is in the field of education, politics, science or sports. He said that there is a need to create awareness among the women living in rural areas. Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Director for women Study Centre presented the welcome address. The workshop covered the discussions on the contribution of women history in J&K. The participants who attended the workshop were Pro. Nirmal Singh, Dr. Usha Vyas, Dr. Shyam Narayan, Dr. Sushma Gupta and Dr. Lalit Gupta. Neerja Mattoo an eminent educationist was also present on this occasion. The vote of thanks was presented by Anita Billawaria, Director, Centre for History and Culture of Jammu and Ladakh region.
