Drug Smuggling Gang active in Jammu, alert sounded in Police stations
Some influentials also believe to be involved

An alert has been sounded in all the Police Station of Jammu following the revealation that a gang in active in the region which used to smuggle the intoxicants, including some medicines also, from the neighboring state of Punjab. This gang is well supported by some of local influential as they are patronizing the trade.
According to source, two youths namely Mohinder alias Gagar, son of Khajan Chand of Krishna Nagar and Ajay Dutta, son of Om Parkash of Talab Tillo were arrested in Talab Tillo area while supplying the intoxicant injections to the other youths of the area. During interrogation they revealed that a gang of drug smugglers is active in Jammu from past some time which used to smuggle all these intoxicants from the neighbouring state of Punjab. On their revealation, an alert has been served in all the police stations to evolve a joint strategy to dismantle the gang.
According to reports, one of the arrested youths has been released on bail and other name sent to a Drug De-Addiction Centre (Mashora, a N.G.O). Sources further revealed that these youth used to brought intoxicant injections at the rate of Rs. 35 from Punjab and to sell it in Jammu at about Rs. 85 the gang is also operating in few of the district in Kashmir region also under the parentage of some of the influential people, sources added.
Sensing the gravity of the issue, Senior Police officer has reportedly sounded a alert in all the police station and directed them to intensify search in their respective areas to dismantle the gang, reports added.
