| Puri expresses shock over Nowshera incident | | | JAMMU March 23 Blraj Puri Convenor People’s Union for Civil Liberties has expressed concern over the communal overtones in the border town of Mendhar and urged the authorities not to take March 22 incident merely as a law and order problem and instead involve leaders of the communities to restore traditional amity between the two groups. In a statement issued here today, Puri hoped that the civil society would rise to the occasion and realize the dangerous implications of communal tension and help to normalize the situation. JP expresses dissatisfaction over the working of JMC Jammu MARCH 23- Expressing his displeasure over the pathetic conditions prevailing in Government Medical College Hospital here, President State Unit of Janata Party Som Nath Dabgotra said the hospital administration is insensitive towards the up keep of the sophisticated diagnostic equipments like CT Scan. In a statement issued here today Dabgotra said that while the Government is boosting about bringing GMC Hospital at par with one of the best hospitals in the country on the other hand it was insensitive towards the sophisticated equipment installed in the Hospital. ‘Connivance of doctors and hospital authorities with private diagnostic centers can not be ruled out’, he said and asked the concerned agencies to set the things right otherwise the party would be forced to launch an aggressive agitation. He said the Health Ministry and the administration must act in a manner, whether coercive or otherwise, to set the things right and maintained that Lal Singh during his tenure as Health Minister had rightly been tough against the hospital administration and the greedy doctors preferring private practice over service to the society in the hospitals.
