Accepting PDP’s demand on troop withdrawal, a dangerous game’, JMM
‘Extends support to Azad in his crusade against militancy’
3/23/2007 11:54:51 PM
JAMMU March 23
Jammu Mukti Morcha in a meeting has unanimously resolved to impress upon the Central Government not to accede to the PDP’s demand of withdrawal of troops as it would jeopardize the safety and security of the state and provide open field for the militants to operate freely.
Describing the demand as politically motivated and against the interests of the state and that of the country as a whole, JMM said that keeping in view the security scenario of the state and the attitude of Pakistan forcing to keep J&K violence outside the proposed anti-terror mechanism, it would be suicidal to relax the control on the militancy by withdrawing forces, the JMM observed..
‘Pakistan still wants to continue its support, directly or indirectly, to the anti-India forces in the Valley’, the JMM said adding that no politics should be played on the withdrawal of security forces.
Holding Mufti Sayeed responsible for flaring of militant activities in the valley at early stage, Prof. Virender Gupta President JMM said he (Mufti0 as Union Home Minister got his daughter released with the exchange of hard core militants. ‘It looks that he is out and out playing the same type of game of encouraging militancy in Jammu and Kashmir state’ Gupta said and added that his party fully supports Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Aazd in his crusade against militancy and anti-national forces.
The Morcha has also welcomed the Kashmir Report of the European Parliament opposing demilitarization in Jammu and Kashmir.
