Adopt single window system to clear self-employment cases: Azad to Bankers

Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday exhorted financial institution to accomplish the responsibility of making self-employment schemes viable and profitable by lending liberal and easy loans to un-employed educated youth. He said banks and financial institutions have stupendous role to play in employment generation. “By extending helping hand to the youth especially educated for venturing in business, trade and industry, banker can make self employment schemes profitable and successful programme”.
Reviewing the progress of financial institution of the state on providing loan assistance to un-employed youth under various self-employment schemes here Chief Minister urged the banks to process the loan cases of un-employed youth separately and complete these under single window system.
He advised self-employment sponsoring agencies to formulate the projects based on local available raw material so that industrial units established are not confronted with any deficiency problem for raw material availability.
He further said that banks and the industrial venture holders should work hand in hand till unit holders could make their ventures profitable and employment-oriented. He said such successful ventures could percolate good message down to other people also to motivate them for setting up more profitable units.
Azad said that the financial institutions and self-employment department should functioning in various districts jointly to make lending and recovery a success.
Azad also called for introducing visionary, market-oriented and profitable scheme for educated un-employed youth and a campaign to motivate youth to avail the facilities available under the scheme.
Chief Minister instructed Banks and other financial institution to initiate measures to approval loan cases of un-employed youth at tehsil level and facilitate them at their doorsteps. This he said would go a long way in motivating youth to take advantage of various schemes launched by the government for their upliftment.
Minister for Labour and Employment Mangat Ram Sharma highlighted Bankers role in curbing un-employment problem adding that the loan procedures, if simplified at branch level, could play a vital role in eradicating un-employment problem. He asked bank authorities to devise a time frame programme for finalizing the loan cases and said that unnecessary delay of such cases needs to be avoided at any cost.
Minister of State for Finance Prem Sagar Aziz, Chief Secretary C. Phunsog, Principal Secretary Planning and Development S. S. Kapoor, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Anil Goswami, Chairman J&K Bank and Economic Advisor to Government Dr. Haseeb A Drabu, Principal Secretary Labour and Employment B. L. Nimesh, Commissioner/Secretary Finance B. B. Vyas, top executives of State Bank of India, NABARD, Punjab National Bank and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
