| Wars give miseries, resolve no issue: Peerzada | | | JAMMU, MARCH 23 President JK PCC and Minister for Education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed addressing a mammoth gathering at R. S. Pora on Martyr’s Day today said that security forces have rendered greater sacrifices in protecting life, property and honour of people of the state. “Sacrifices of 5000 personnel and the laudable service of forces rendered in the state is not forgettable”. Peerzada complemented Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad for taking strong stand on the issue, which, he said has rightly been approved and upheld by the UPA leadership including Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Education Minister also showered praises on Mr. Azad for his extra ordinary and bold decisions taken during last one and a half year tenure creating history. He said creation of new districts, going for ahead of CMP, enacting of Roshni Act, making laws to provide 17 lakh kanals of state land to the farmers free of cost, strengthening anti-corruption laws, enacting laws for establishment of Finance Commissioner - for equal distribution of resources, setting in place a viable monitoring system to check physical achievements on ground and many money more such landmark steps would go down in the annuals as highly pro-people decisions. Peerzada said that wars are miseries giving and people of Jammu and Kashmir have born the brunt of four wars including that of Kargil conflict. “Wars only give sufferings and resolve no issue”, Peerzada said. He said every one of us should strive for lasting peace and realize the goal of total prosperity for the state. He said sevral steps have been initiated by the UPA government to improve relations between India and Pakistan and opening of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawalkot roads are significant steps in this direction. Peerzada said that opening of Kargil-Sakrardoo and Suchetgarh-Sialkot routes would be next target. He said resumption of dialogue process and interaction meetings between India and Pakistan at various levels are certain to bring the two countries more closer to resolve all issues across the table. He lauded UPA government, its chairperson and Prime Minister for providing liberal assistance both financial and logistic to the state to come out of the heavy damage and losses caused to infrastructure during the period of militancy. He paid rich tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev for attaining martyrdom in pursuit of blocking anti-people aggression of then British administration in India. |
