| Karra visits Batmaloo, directs authorities for redressal of grievances | | | Srinagar, March 23 Minister for Finance and Planning, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. Tariq Hamid Karra today made an extensive tour of various areas of Batmaloo constituency to assess the damage caused by recent rains on spot. The Minister was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Mr. Basharat Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Vice Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority, Chief Engineer, Power Development Department and other senior officers. Mr. Karra visited Qamarwari, Putlipora, Sheikh Sarfi Park, Barah Ghat, Chhatabal, Wattal Kadal, Chana Mohalla, Baghiyas and Bagh-i-Nand Singh areas and interacted with locals to get first hand account about the problems being faced by them. The locals put forth their demands including widening of roads and construction of public park. Mr. Karra at Watal Kadal addressed a public gathering in which he told that the government is committed to provide all basic and necessary services to the people. Mr. Karra was told that Srinagar Development Authority is allotting plots to the displaced of the Choont Kul in Bemina. The Minister assured the families affected by the Qamarwari road widening project that they would be rehabilitated soon. He urged upon the concerned officers to the take concrete and immediate steps for solving problems being faced by People.
