| Awareness camp for Self Help Groups at Karval | | | Jammu March 24
Priyadarshini Indira Mahila Block Society organized an awareness camp for self help groups at village Karval . The camp sponsored by NABARD was attended by 50 candidates of several self help groups of the area.
During the camp the problems being faced by these groups were threadbare discussed which included grant of loans.
Several speakers explained the concept of setting up self help groups and its functioning. It was made clear to the participants that members of the group have to take decisions collectively and not by the President and the Secretary alone.
The participants were also informed about the new Insurance scheme launched by the LIC where under the insurer would get an insurance cover of Rs.75000 by just paying Rs.40 as premium per annum besides scholarship of Rs.100 per month for the children reading between 9th to 12th class.
