| Panic grips Bhaderwah town | | | DODA,MAR 24 Panic gripped Bhadarwah town today when hundreds of people under the banner of Zila Vikas Party assembled in the historical Seri Bazaar ,Bhadarwah and started shouting slogans against the state government led by the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and the local administration . In the morning, the people of the ST Community assembled at Athkar area, about 8 km away from the main town, where three days back one woman and a teenaged girl of 5th class washed away in Neeru River and rescue team only recovered the dead body of woman. The protestors blamed the administration for its callous approach in fishing out the body of the girl from the river despite lapse of three days. As a protest, they took out a procession and started moving towards Seri Baazar where they organized protest demonstration and blocked traffic on the main road for four hours. They also clashed with some drivers. Addressing the protestors Abdul Hafeez Wani president of the ZVP, lambasted the administration for its failure in tracing out the body of the girl and held government responsible for such mishaps. He said non availability of bridge over the river, several lives have been lost in the past also and urged for a bridge on the river. On the occasion Dharanter Singh senior BJP leader, held government responsible for this gruesome tragedy and alleged no effort worth the name has been made by the local administration to trace out the body of the girl and demanded ex gratia relief to the deceased families. The situation was brought under control when ASP M.L.Mehra rushed to the spot and assured the demonstrators that all possible measures would be taken to recover the body.
