HC stays appointments of two excise guards

Jammu, March 24
Justice JP Singh of J&K High Court Jammu wing in a significant order stayed the appointment of two Excise Guards selected in open category.
This court direction has been passed in a writ petition filed one Naveen Chander, a BSc students belonging to open category, who had applied for the post of guard in excise and commercial taxes department challenged the selection and appointments of open category candidates particularly respondents Pardeep Singh and Tilak Raj who were less qualified while the petitioner besides BSc and having three certificates in NCC and also done training in typing and diploma in computer application was ignored.
Justice JP Singh after hearing Advocate Surinder Kour appearing for the petitioner issued notice to respondents including Commissioner Commercial Tax Department and private respondents and ordered that the appointment of private respondents against post of guards in excise and commercial taxes department shall remain stayed till the next date of hearing.
