| Trooper buried alive, another die mysteriously | | | Srinagar, Mar 24
An army personal was buried alive under an avalanche in frontier district of Kupwara, while another jawan died under mysterious circumstances on a forward post in Kargil area, late last night.
A police spokesman told News Agency of Kashmir that an army jawan came under an avalanche at Eagle Post in Kupwara district, late of Friday evening. Identified as Sepoy Kulbir Singh of 2 Dogra Regiment, the jawan was buried alive under the avalanche and efforts of his colleagues to save his life did not yield any result.
Police said that the body of the solider was dugged out this morning and handed over to the concerned unit. His last rites were performed in the unit headquarter, this afternoon.
Meanwhile, sources revealed that a trooper of 7th Mahar Regiment died under mysterious circumstances at Parm Post in Kargil area.
It was learnt that body of Sepoy Rani Prashani son of Praladhd Rani of Shiona Akola, Maharashtra was found lying on the forward post in mysterious circumstances.
Police said that it has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
