| Copying menace rampant in Gool centers | | | Udhampur, Mar 21 Not withstanding the claims of authorities of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, mass copying has been a routine matter during the annual Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations in far off area of Gool in district Udhampur. Informed sources told News Agency of Kashmir that students indulged in mass copying during the Matric exams in connivance with the staff on duty, adding that the same is being repeated now in the ongoing Higher Secondary Exams. These examination Centers are Girls High School Gool, Higher Secondary Schools at Gool and Sangaldaan, High Schools Dharan and HSS School Tharka. Sources said that the superintending staff is giving the appearing students a free hand for all of them being the teachers of the same area. “They being teachers from the same schools, give them (appearing candidates) a free hand to avoid cut in their increments in the event of bad results, a student on the condition of anonymity told NAK adding, “while students indulged in mass copying during theory papers, the examiners for practical test are charging Rs 150 from each student for helping them in practical papers”. “While there had been clear directions from the Government to the BOSE authorities for avoiding repetition of Examiners, same staff is being deployed every year in the area for conducting the exams, said a local Sadiq Ahmed while regretting the attitude of the authorities. He said “our heart aches on seeing students indulging in mass copying as to how they would face the future challenges”.
