| Workshop on ‘The secret of true living’ organized | | ‘Mind and body are deeply interlinked’, says Dr Vasishth | | Jammu March 25 Akhand Yoga Kendra organized its 6th one-day workshop on ‘The Secret of True Living’, with main focus on mind-body relationship, at Brahmin Sabha Parade here today, in which large number of people from all walks of life participated. Dr Sunil Vasishth, founder of the Akhand Yoga, while conducting the workshop said that ‘for all practical purposes mind and body are so deeply interlinked, that any changes taking place in one, gets automatically and instantly reflected in the other.’ This process being vital for life continues across the lifetime of an individual, he added. ‘Understanding of this fundamental fact is essential for staying healthy, as well as, leading a successful and fulfilling life’, he said adding this ‘becomes all the more important because many of the disease states encountered in the physical body have their roots deeply embedded in the mind and vice-versa’. ‘Saying that human mind has attained the present level of development over the millions of years, he said understanding of the latter is thus incomplete unless one has a deeper insight of the mind and its process. It is only when one can make informed choices about health and other related issues’, he added Dismissing the view that the mind is nothing but a byproduct of the brain biochemistry, Dr Vasishth said by doing so, one only denies the enormous potential of this fantastic natural device and maintained that such a mechanical approach has failed to explain many of the intricate functions performed by the mind. He said Oorja, Shakti-Kriya, Shaktipata and Akhand Samadhi, the fundamental techniques of Akhand Yoga, go a long way in helping an individual to have an understanding of the mind-body relationship. He urged the participants to popularize these techniques amongst masses and thus help take the best out of their lives. Earlier, Pawanesh Abrol, organizer of the workshop and senior lecturer, Department of Computer Sciences, Information and Technology, University of Jammu welcoming the participants and the guests emphasized the importance of knowing mind-body relationship. Disclosing her experience of knowing mind and body relationship, Anuradha Puri, Convenor of the workshop, stressed the need to put into practice the invaluable information being provided in the Akhand yoga workshops.
